These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of www.thecoinshop.us and related services offered by The Coin Shop L.L.C. (“The Coin Shop,” “we,” “us”). By using our website, chat, phone attendant, or store services described online, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who We Are

2. Use of the Website

You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to attempt to disrupt, scrape abusively, reverse engineer, or misuse the site, live price tools, chat, or related systems. We may suspend access if we believe these Terms are violated.

3. No Investment Advice

Content on this site—including educational text about spot prices, premiums, bullion, and coins—is for general information only. It is not investment, tax, or legal advice. Precious metals and collectible coins involve risk, including loss of principal. You are responsible for your own decisions.

4. Live Spot Prices, Charts & Sell Boards

Spot prices, charts, and sell boards may update during market hours and can lag, fail, or display delayed data. Displayed sell prices typically include our premium over spot and may change without notice based on market moves, inventory, and product type. A price on the website is an invitation to inquire—not a binding offer—until confirmed by our staff for a specific transaction.

5. Products, Inventory & Orders

Inventory is limited and often unique. We reserve the right to correct errors, refuse or cancel any order or buy offer, and limit quantities. Descriptions and images are believed accurate but may contain mistakes; final inspection at the counter or as agreed in writing controls for in-store deals.

6. Buying From / Selling To Us

When you sell items to us or buy from us, terms of that transaction (price, payment method, return policy if any) are as stated at the counter or in a written confirmation. We may require government-issued ID and keep records as required by law for certain transactions. We may decline items we cannot authenticate, that appear stolen, or that we choose not to handle.

7. Payments

We do not operate a credit or debit card machine. In-store we accept cash, Zelle, and personal checks for customers we know (at our discretion). Large payments (including orders over $9,999) are wire transfer only; we do not accept checks for large amounts unless we know you. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, in-store sales are final once completed.

8. Liberty AI Chat & Phone

Liberty can answer common questions about hours, directions, services, and general product knowledge, and can transfer you to a person when available. Automated answers may be incomplete or incorrect. For binding quotes, large deals, or authentication, speak with staff during business hours. Do not submit card numbers or sensitive personal data via chat.

9. SMS / Text Messaging

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, you agree that The Coin Shop may send text messages related to your request (including order/support updates) and, if you separately opt in, promotional messages. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out; HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We may change or discontinue text programs at any time. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

10. Intellectual Property

Site content, branding, logos, and original photography are owned by The Coin Shop or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them for commercial purposes without permission. Third-party marks (for example PCGS) belong to their owners.

11. Third-Party Services

Features such as live metal data, notification sign-up, maps, and the Liberty attendant may rely on third-party platforms (including SpotPro). Those services have their own terms; we are not responsible for outages or changes on third-party systems.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Coin Shop L.L.C. and its owners, employees, and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from use of the website, chat, pricing tools, or services. Our total liability for any claim related to the website is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the specific online transaction giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), except where liability cannot be limited under Michigan law (including for fraud or willful misconduct).

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Coin Shop from claims arising out of your misuse of the site, violation of these Terms, or violation of law, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for disputes arising from these Terms or the website shall be in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
